Humana People to People -  To Make Anti-AIDS Tablets In Bindura

An international non-governmental organisation (NGO) known as Humana from People to People will start manufacturing anti-AIDS tablets in Bindura within two months using a method developed by the United States-based Institute for Alternative Therapy, it was learnt this week.

The tablets would be based on multi-vitamins, aspirin, chloroquine and selen, a mineral used in the treatment of cancer.

Some of the ingredients needed for the tablets are available locally while others can be imported at a cheap price. Tests conducted overseas have shown that the tablets that Humana wants to make can slow down the progression of the virus that causes AIDS and also reverse its multiplication
